Regular Plant sales operate at the nursery on:
Saturday mornings: 10.00 am – 12.00 noon
What is available:
A healthy & varied range of plants for sale propagated by the Friends.
Excess stock contributed by the Botanic Gardens staff.
Typically there are hardy tough natives, trendy succulents, exotics, hedging plants, indoor plants and ground covers. Advice is readily available from the Friends working at the nursery.
Cost: A range of prices from $2. Excellent value.
Funds raised: Are contributed to the development of the Bendigo Botanic Gardens.
This project is the next stage of the Masterplan created with the City of Greater Bendigo for the Bendigo Botanic Gardens. It includes: a Visitor Centre building, a Central Plaza & Wetland/Ponds.
The architects: GHD Woodhead Architecture in consultation with the Friends Committee, the City of Greater Bendigo, and the Dja Dja Wurrung people, developed the plans for the Hub.
Where: The Central Hub is located within the Botanic Gardens area, between the Heritage Gardens and the newly established Garden for the Future.
Purpose: The Central Hub buildings and landscaping will become the heart of the Botanic Gardens area. It will provide a central meeting place & visitor information & services. Visitors will be encouraged to connect with and use the landscape & wetlands.
The Friends will make good use of the building as our meetings will be based in the Central Hub.
Current Progress: Construction work is progressing well and estimated completion is mid-2022.
